HWI stainless steel Snake Guides are perfect for the rod builder looking to conserve weight, improve rod sensitivity and minimize cost. The ultralight fine diameter wire makes these guides a fraction of the weight of traditional guides. With the increasing popularity of fly reels or in-line reels, the more sense it makes to reduce the size and weight of the guides used in building ice rods.
Since we often transition from spinning guides to fly guides when building ice rods, our guide sizes are described in the same terms as open water spinning or casting guides. In the case of these snake guides #6 is the smallest of the guides.
