The Whipping Rod by HWI is a 48 inch Medium Heavy graphite composite rod. The Whipping Rod includes cork grips and a rod sleeve to store your rod.
The HWI Whipping Rod was developed for a special fishing technique called Whipping. This technique is used on the St Clair River near Port Huron Michigan and uses 2-4 oz sinkers and 4" type stick baits. The technique calls for 20-30# line, a short rod with a long butt section and a lot of power. Our Whipping Rod is the lightest weight and most sensitive whipping rod available.
